When I told someone Chengdu is a hot city, I meant both food and the city itself. Hopefully, I finally remembered that I forgot procrastinated to post my photos I took when I travelled to Chengdu and stayed for a few days this winter. Still, these pictures are taken from my old Canon 50D DSLR and the mediocre lens.
The Jinli was an old lane but now refurbished into a mixture of traditional architecture design and modern commercial elements with all sorts of food and indie shops. Commercializing the old part wasn’t always that bad, ther is even a Starbucks hidden inside.
I didn’t have the chance to taste one of these, but apart from Starbucks and gorgeous restaurants, the casual bytes bites remain a must for both local and visitors.
Dufu’s Hut, namely the hut where the poet Dufu lived during his stay in Chengdu a long long time ago, is now a park of local seniors with bookstores and cafe targeting the younger people featuring a special collection of hand crafts and books.
The Wide and Narrow Lane feels somewhat similar to Xintiandi in Shanghai. The restaurants were a little bit overpriced, but with bookstores, art shows, galleries and cafe one can still find leisure in the very downtown of Chengdu.
